Meet Our Employees
The DriveTime team has over 2,200 employees and we are growing every day. Because the best way to learn about what it’s like to work for a company is to hear directly from people who work there, we would like to introduce you to few members of our team.

"Workers don’t want to be treated like children, and DriveTime gets that."

DriveTime is the fourth company I’ve worked with in my collections career, and there is such a difference. For example, we have a lot of flexibility to help customers with extensions and deferments. And with the ‘DriveTime Cares’ program, if a customer isn’t current because of a life-changing event, like cancer, for instance, ‘DriveTime Cares’ will look at what that person owes and often pay the entire thing to bring it current. Not an extension, but just pay it. I like being able to help people like that. Of course one of the big things about a collections career is that if you do a good job, you can make a lot of money, and that is definitely true here with the different bonuses. But the whole atmosphere is different. Most call centers are pretty quiet, but here it’s more open—people talk, managers are approachable, and my co-workers are really helpful. Even after my training was completed, they were always coming up and asking, “Is there anything we can show you? Do you have any questions?” Other call centers I’ve worked at tend to micromanage people, telling you what time to take a break, what time lunch is. Here, I manage my own time. That’s something I like—workers don’t want to be treated like children, and DriveTime gets that. |

"The growth potential here is just tremendous."

I came in as a Sales Associate, with a personal goal to get into management. Six months later, I entered the Manager in Training program, and after two months I became a Sales Manager, coaching my own team. I think this is just a great company that will be around for a long time. I would definitely recommend it to a friend. |

"The company culture was like nothing I’d ever experienced."

I interned here over the summer and during my last semester at ASU. The company culture was like nothing I’d ever experienced, and I’ve had my share of jobs. The quality of work people put forth is really incredible. When I considered working for other companies, I felt spoiled having been with DriveTime—I really wanted to be brought on board here, and I let them know that. Luckily, they were happy with what I did as an intern and thought I’d bring value to the company, so they ended up creating a new position for me. They had done that for my boss years ago, too, and he went on to do impressive things. He’s my mentor now; it’s great to work under him. |

"It’s a great environment."

The thing I noticed right away at DriveTime is that the technicians are really willing to help each other out. We all come from different backgrounds, and we know different auto makers and different cars. It’s a great environment. I also like the benefits here, and especially the hours. As a technician, I was used to working very long days—sometimes 12-hour shifts, but that’s not how it is at DriveTime. Here we’re hourly, and I usually work from 7 to 4, and I have time left in the day to be with my family. That’s important to me. |

"Their doors were always open to me."

I came on board nine years ago in IT, and one of the biggest things I noticed was that the people are open, easy to talk to and always willing to help. I could go to the senior IT people who trained me, even months after my training was done, and ask them questions—their doors were always open to me. Another thing about DriveTime is they have good people in management—the kind of people you can count on to support you. The company does things like buy lunch for the whole building, or arrange gatherings to get everybody together. The culture here really is fantastic. |

I enjoy coming to work because it’s a positive and very nurturing environment. We care about each other, we make sure to acknowledge and support meaningful events in each others lives. When I went out on maternity leave, everybody was so thoughtful and caring. Around here, you can always grow. It all depends on the individual and where you want to go. If you want to advance, you can. When I started with DriveTime five years ago, I held an entry level position as Office Coordinator. I learned so much and was soon promoted to Senior Office Coordinator where I was managing our dealership's operations coordinators. Recently I was promoted to the Las Vegas Regional Inventory Operations Manager, which I love. I manage the process of all title transactions, handling invoices for the IC center and assisting where needed. I truly respect DriveTime for giving back to the community, with programs like SchoolTime. In addition to donating money, we’re always volunteering, showing our faces, and really getting involved with local area kids. DriveTime supports this cause with SchoolTime PTO - a certain number of paid hours off if you want to help. We’ve bought and handed out Christmas gifts and school uniforms for needy families and have held ice cream parties - it’s a great feeling to give back! |

"Within a year I became Assistant Manager, then worked my way up."

I started with DriveTime nine years ago—I was actually painting cars in a company DriveTime purchased. Right away, they moved me to the front, selling cars as a Sales Associate. Within a year I became Assistant Manager, then worked my way up to Sales Manager and then General Manager, where I ran the #1 store in the company in 2005. Today I’m a Retail Strategist. If you take the initiative, this is a place where you really can learn new things and move up the chain. |

"Knowing I have this support system of people who believe in me has been priceless."

The advancement opportunities are a big part of what makes DriveTime such a unique place to work. I started here in 1999 as a part time Office Coordinator – it was really just a weekend job while I was in school. I started working full time, and the support and feedback and training they offered helped me move up the ladder. I worked as a Senior Office Coordinator, then at the regional level, and now I hold a position as a National Operations Manager. If you have goals in mind, this is an organization that gives you what you need to reach them. But it’s really the people that make DriveTime unique. You can always get candid feedback, and talk through situations, and even try and fail at some things. Knowing I have this support system of people who believe in me has been priceless. I’m continuing to further my education, and they have really made efforts toward flexibility with my schedule. --Knowing how they support me and that they’re willing to be so flexible with my schedule means a lot. |
