As a Sales Manager in Training (SMIT) you’ll be assigned to a dealership where you’ll work directly with an experienced General Manager who will act as your very own mentor, providing you with valuable insight and hands-on experience across every operating unit at DriveTime—finance, HR, inventory, auctions and more. Sales Manager

Once you become a full-fledged Sales Manager, you’ll be assigned to a dealership where you’ll use your excellent leadership skills to oversee sales operations and staff. Most of all, we’ll count on you to help promote the warm, friendly dealership atmosphere our customers and employees look forward to.
The details:
- Use your amazing insight and people skills to deliver performance evaluations, one-on-one coaching and training as you work to develop the sales operation at your dealership.
- Work with Sales Associates on goals and follow up, monitoring logs and doing quality control checks to ensure the deals are complete.
- Help Sales Associates and customers complete deals.
- Pull and review credit applications, interview customers regarding background and history and give input to General Manager.
- Verify customer employment, monitors customer payment tracking.
- Oversee dealership operations when the General Manager is out.
The requirements:
- Retail or customer service experience (car sales management a plus!!).
- High school graduate or equivalent (college ideal).
- Excellent communication and listening skills.
- Ability to interact with customers, managers and co-workers in a professional, courteous manner.
- PC skills (Microsoft Office) desirable.
- A combination of experience and education that is equivalent to the requirements above will also be considered.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Last but not least, you’ll definitely need a clean driving record, and to pass a drug test and a background check.
