I had heard that DriveTime is a great place to work—great benefits, the family environment, the whole nine yards. I really wanted to be somewhere where I could settle down and enjoy coming to work every day. 

I work at the Reconditioning Center in Richmond. When a vehicle comes in, I do an initial inspection and make a list of things to repair. Other companies do basic 20-point inspections. At DriveTime, we follow a 53-point inspection process that gets down into actual measurements such as tread depth and brake thickness. We listen for abnormal sounds, look for engine problems, transmission problems, driveline problems, and other things that a technician normally wouldn’t get the chance to do.

I’m coming up on my fifth year and I’ve already referred five other people to the company.

The best part about my job is the variety of vehicles—I see something different every day. And there’s a great work ethic. We won’t sell a vehicle that’s below our standards.
