About Our Loans About Our Customer Programs
About Our Company What is DriveTime? DriveTime is the auto dealership and finance company of choice for people with less-than-perfect credit. We provide innovative credit solutions, quality vehicles and outstanding customer service. At DriveTime, we're committed to creating a positive experience for customers, even under the toughest circumstances. Now, You've Got Options.™ Where can I find a DriveTime dealership? DriveTime has dealerships in 10 states and 18 metro areas: Albuquerque, Atlanta, Austin, Charlotte, Dallas, Denver, Greensboro, Jacksonville, Norfolk, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Orlando, Phoenix, Richmond, San Antonio, Tampa, and Tucson. About Our Cars How do I find the right car for me at DriveTime? We offer a wide variety of high quality, two-year and older vehicles. You can find the right car for you today by visiting the dealership nearest to you or by searching our current inventory using our Find a Vehicle page. I am looking for a specific vehicle. What do you have available? DriveTime offers a wide variety of vehicle makes and models. To search for the vehicle that's right for you, visit our Find a Vehicle page. Are the cars you sell in good working condition? What is the 53-point inspection? We are personally committed to providing you with the highest quality used vehicles you can find anywhere. We want you to be extremely happy about your purchase, feel 100% confident in your decision, tell all your friends about us, and come back to us again and again. We also want to have a car you'll be proud to drive. Do you provide any reports about the car? Yes. Just ask and we'll provide you with an Experian Auto Check Report at the time of the sale. This report is similar to a CarFax report, and gives you the confidence that there are no odometer, title or other vehicle history issues associated with the car you're buying from us. What type of warranty do you offer? We offer one of the best warranties you'll find anywhere. Most any car dealership you visit offers you a 30-day warranty, or none at all! But because we sell only quality used cars, we offer warranties for a full 180 days or 6,000 miles. About Our Loans Applying for a Loan What do I need to bring with me when I go to a dealership to apply for a loan? Please bring the following items with you to the dealership:
What is the best interest rate that you are able to offer me? DriveTime offers various interest rates based on numerous qualifying factors. Because DriveTime is the actual lender when you buy a car from us, we can offer you many more options than other car dealerships, who must finance the cars they sell through not-so-flexible banks. At DriveTime, even people with no credit or really bad credit can get low interest rates. We call it RateAdvantage®. But the best news is that our RateAdvantage® program lets you lower your rate even after you've purchased your car. Can I apply for a loan even if I have recently filed for bankruptcy? In order to apply for a loan after having recently filed for bankruptcy, we must receive written authorization from your bankruptcy trustee indicating that you are legally allowed to enter into a new loan with us. To learn more about applying for a loan, call us at 1-888-418-1212 or come visit the DriveTime dealership nearest you today. Upgrading/Trading in a Car If I currently have a DT account, can I trade in my car or upgrade to another vehicle? We have an upgrade program called The DT Champ™ Program. Upon achieving DT Champ™ status, members are eligible for upgrades with zero down payment and special financing rates. In order to qualify as a DT Champ™, your account must be current and your payoff balance must be less than $3,500. Some other conditions apply, so please call us for more information at 1-866-382-4267 or visit the dealership nearest you. I currently have a loan with a non-DriveTime dealership, how can I trade in my vehicle? DriveTime currently does not accept a non-DriveTime vehicle as a trade-in if there is a lien or if the vehicle is in a position of negative equity. The only exception is if you are willing to pay the difference between the current payoff and the Actual Cash Value (ACV) of the car, in addition to any down payment that would be required for your purchase with us. Please call 1-888-418-1212 so that we may better assess your specific situation. Better yet, visit the dealership nearest you. I would like to make my payment online. When will this feature be available? You can make a payment on a DriveTime auto loan by going to www.paybyinternet.com/drivetime. DriveTime's PayByInternet system will accept Visa/MasterCard credit or debit cards, ATM cards with STAR, PULSE and NYCE logos, as well as electronic checks.
Requesting Account Status/Details Who can call requesting information on my account? DriveTime is highly committed to safeguarding our customers' information. To maintain complete confidentiality, we must speak to the individual(s) specifically designated on the contract. For any further questions regarding this inquiry, please contact a customer service specialist at 1-800-967-8526. Learn more about our DT Champ™ program. About Credit What steps do I need to take to report fraud? You have the right to ask that nationwide consumer reporting agencies place “fraud alerts” in your file to let potential creditors and others know that you may be a victim of identity theft. A fraud alert can make it more difficult for someone to get credit in your name because it tells creditors to follow certain procedures to protect you. Please be aware that this may also delay your ability to obtain credit. You may place a fraud alert in your file by calling one of the three nationwide consumer reporting agencies. As soon as that agency processes your fraud alert, it will notify the other two agencies, which then also will place fraud alerts in your files.
What can I do if I discover that information is being reported incorrectly on my credit report? You have the right to dispute incomplete or inaccurate information. If you identify information in your file that is incomplete or inaccurate, and report it to a consumer reporting agency, the agency must investigate unless your dispute is frivolous. What supporting documentation am I required to provide in order to file an identity theft claim? An identity theft report includes a copy of a report you have filed with a federal, state, or local law enforcement agency. A consumer reporting agency may require you to submit additional information. For the detailed information about the identity theft report, visit www.consumer.gov/idtheft. I heard that I can get a free copy of my credit report each year? How do I get a free copy of my credit report each year? Click here to get one copy of your credit report each year from AnnualCreditReport.com What about companies that claim they can improve my credit report for a fee? The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) cautions consumers to be wary of companies that make claims regarding credit repair. These companies, commonly called credit clinics, don't do anything for consumers that consumers cannot do for themselves at little or no cost. Beware of any organization that offers to create a new identity and credit file for you. The FTC and state attorneys general have filed actions against those who pursue these fraudulent practices. Here are some warning signs that the FTC and others say consumers should look out for to determine if they might be dealing with a credit clinic:
Other Commonly Asked Questions I am planning to take the vehicle out of the country. Who do I need to contact to receive a letter of authorization? What information will I need to provide to process this request? Please contact Customer Service at 1-800-967-8526. We would ask for the following:
