DriveTime, the largest used car sales and finance company in the country serving people with credit problems, is moving its loan servicing and operations center from Gilbert, Arizona to a larger facility in nearby Mesa. The 125,558 square-foot office building, which cost $15.8 million, is located at 7300 E. Hampton Ave.
Currently, 280 employees work at the Gilbert site and will move into the new space in March of 2007.
But DriveTime expects to fill the larger facility with even more people – bringing in an additional 100 employees in the next several months and 300 more in the next three years.
“DriveTime expects to open 15 dealerships per year for the next three years and we need to expand the service center to accommodate that growth,” said Jon Ehlinger, DriveTime’s spokesperson. “A bigger space means we have the capacity to add more people. We’re looking forward to more than doubling our workforce and contributing to the growing economy in Mesa.”
