DriveTime, the largest used car sales and finance company in the country serving people with credit problems, announced it will open its 100th nationwide dealership on February 22 near Charlotte, North Carolina.
The dealership, located at 788 Concord Parkway North in Concord, represents a milestone for the growing company. DriveTime embarked on an expansion strategy in 2004, opening dozens of stores each year. Since then, the company has grown to employ nearly 3,000 in 100 dealerships across nine states.
Most recently, DriveTime expanded into North Carolina – opening six dealerships, including the new Concord location, since July of 2006. And already, North Carolina is one of DriveTime’s most successful new regions. In less than six months, DriveTime has hired over 101 employees, sold over 1,320 cars and originated over $10 million in loans.
“We couldn’t be more pleased with our start in North Carolina,” says Jon Ehlinger, company spokesperson. “We feel North Carolina has embraced us and what we’re trying to do, including our community outreach program, SchoolTime, and our work with Walter G. Byers Elementary.”
In the coming year DriveTime will expand further into North Carolina with the opening of up to five additional stores located in the Greensboro and Raleigh/Durham areas.
